NO SIGNAL
Last Monday at You Grow Brandon was comparing the way we use our cell phones to the way we should treat our time with God. He showed a video that presented a few questions. Why don't we carry god's word with us everywhere we go? (It should be in our hearts). Why don't we check God's word for new messages throughout the day? Why don't we read the Bible just because, they way we talk to friends just because? Why don't we use God's word to make plans? realized that spending time with God was not a really high priority for me. Brandon suggested that we take some time to worship God in the silence. It was in the silence that God spoke to Elijah. The whole time that I just kept asking God, "How long did Elijah have to wait? I don't feel anything." I felt like there was no connection between me and God. When Brandon got up to dismiss us to go to small groups, I looked up at the TV. Just then it flashed the NO SIGNAL light, then turned off. I told God "That is exactly how I feel. I feel like I have no signal. Why is that?" That's when God revealed to me that my heart was in the wrong place. When I have no signal on my cell phone, it is not because the tower is not in the right place. The tower is always there, I just have to be in the right place to reach it. True worship is having heart turned towards God, If my heart is not in the right place, I can not truly worship God.
